DVS Launches ZERA: Ultra-Lightweight Form with Bold Visual Technology

Fort Lauderdale, FL – DVS LED Systems has launched its latest flagship LED panel for rental and staging applications, ZERA. Combining an ultra-lightweight design with groundbreaking LED technologies to deliver exceptional visual performance while offering a high level of durability, efficiency, and functional form.

ZERA is offered in both full-size 500x1000mm and half-size 500x500mm variants. Along with pixel pitches ranging from 1.5mm to 3.9mm, all of which are available in both panel sizes for optimized affordability and reduced setup time.

The magnesium-based chassis offers an ultra-lightweight form for easier handling and reduced rigging load. With full-size panels weighing as low as 20lbs and half-size panels weighing just under 10lbs. Precision-engineered to offer no compromises to structural rigidity with a patent-pending, anti-deformative design to ensure seamless alignment and exceptional screen flatness. ZERA incorporates DVS’s new CURVLOK2 smart latching system, a handle-based panel interlocking system designed to reduce setup time while supporting tight tolerances down to 0.55mm with field-selectable curvatures. With this unique latching system and standard magnetic-assisted alignment, users can save up to an estimated 30% setup time.

Pushing the boundaries with LED technology without compromising reliability, ZERA is offered in 2 distinctive models with their own unique LED technology – ZERA and ZERA XP. Standard ZERA indoor models are equipped with DynaPix™ LED technology, an IMD-based 2-in-1 or 4-in-1 LED customized to offer high contrast levels up to 10,000:1, wider viewing angles, and up to 5x higher collision resistance than conventional SMD technology. It incorporates standard common-cathode technology to reduce power consumption and thermal output. Standard ZERA models are available in 1.5, 1.9, 2.3, and 2.6mm pixel pitches for indoor use, making this unique technology critical for on-the-road durability. Outdoor models are equipped with high-output blackface SMD LEDs available in 2.9 and 3.9mm pixel pitches.

ZERA XP™ is a groundbreaking hybrid indoor/outdoor fine-pitch LED solution. ZERA XP models incorporate a patent-pending, high-output XP MIP™ (MicroLED-in-Package) technology. Achieving up to 4,000~ NITs calibrated brightness and up to 40,000:1 contrast ratio with an enhanced black substrate coating, resulting in exceptional color reproduction and ambient light absorption for daylight visibility. The unique matte-finish pixel overlay coating delivers a 175-degree horizontal viewing angle and up to 10x stronger pixel durability. Unlike traditional LED coatings, it still offers the ability to be repaired to preserve batch color and aging consistency. Also equipped with common cathode technology, ZERA XP offers remarkably low power consumption, and the LED modules are enclosed in magnesium-based housing for better thermal management, yet with minimal increase in weight. ZERA XP is available in 1.5, 1.9 and 2.6mm pixel pitches that can be effortlessly used both indoors and outdoors with a standard IP65 rating and no degradation in color quality at lower brightness levels.

These revolutionary technologies present a number of industry firsts. ZERA XP is the world’s first rental-grade LED panel to be offered with outdoor MicroLED technology, as well as the world’s first outdoor-rated panel to be offered in sub-2mm pixel pitches in a 500×1000 panel size. Refining its image processing and color production capabilities, ZERA equips the latest IC driver technology in strategic collaboration with TB Silicon, another world first for rental-grade LED panels. Known as Infinite Intelligent Drive technology, ZERA can achieve up to 24-bit grayscale for extremely deep colors and smooth gradients, while optimizing power efficiency to reduce thermal output, resulting in enhanced component reliability.

A standard 7,680≥ Hz refresh rate upholds professional standards with flicker-free operation and ultra-low latency support, making it ideal for broadcast scenarios. With high-pixel densities in a larger panel format, ZERA is also available with 5G processing from NovaStar or Brompton to reduce homerun cables and simplify data connection topologies while also supporting higher bandwidth for higher frame rates or bit depth.
